Getting the key of your first home is one of the great moments in life and there are few things more exciting than buying the perfect property for your needs. Whether you are a first time buyer starting out on the property ladder, require more space for the family or are looking for an investment property to rent, it is likely you will need a mortgage to help you make your move.

Alternatively, you may be looking to capitalise on the growth in value of your property to help you with other projects. Re-mortgaging a property to provide money for a business, home improvements or perhaps debt consolidation which is now a very common occurrence.

The mortgage market is booming. The choice of mortgage lenders has multiplied as have the number of different mortgage types. There are now products to suit the needs of almost every borrower.

Finding the mortgage suitable for your circumstances can be a problem simply because of the increased choice. This section will try to help you come to an informed decision as to what is best for you needs.

When considering any mortgage finance you must understand that this is a significant financial commitment. Loans are often subject to checks in respect of your ability to repay the debt and the value of the premises that you wish to purchase.

Local Information that you may find useful

The Geography & Transport - West Midlands Area

The area of the West Midlands area discussed here covers an arc around the west of Birmingham and includes the towns of Bridgnorth, Stourbridge, Kidderminster and to the north, Stafford.

This area contains a wide variety of countryside, the river Severn cutting from north west to the south, travelling through historic Bridgnorth with it's ruined castle (blown up by Cromwell's soldiers in the cival war) and on into Worcestershire. The rolling hills of Shropshire are also evident in part of the region with such dramatic features as Wenlock Edge being found here as well.

Transport in the region is dominated by the road network, the rail network having been reduced in the 1960's to a shadow of its previous self. However the demise of the railway has led to some great walks in the area, with many tracks in places like Wyre Forest owing their existence to the rail network of the past.

There are a wide variety of travel related websites that may prove useful to anyone considering a move to this lovely part of the UK. These can be found below:-

A Strong Travel Infrastructure

No other UK city or region compares for the strength of the infrastructure of the West Midlands. The strong infrastructure is not only based on good transport, communications and business networks but also by the insight of business people in the region to turn this into a commercial advantage.

The West Midlands Region is an easily accessible region thanks to its excellent road (the M6 and M5 offering fast travel, while the excellent rail routes to London and the North offer an excellent alternative. Birmingham airport is expanding its services with links to many major capitals as well as many scheduled internal shuttle links.
